This is great software, but there's one feature that it could use that I feel would make it even more useful. If there were a way to enable transparency of the on-screen controller, (so that it won't completely obscure the image underneath it when accessing it), it would be perfect. I DO realize that that's probably something that the developer can't alter, as this pref panel modifies the hidden QTX preference options, but it would be welcomed if it were at all possible.

Needs to Enable QuickTime Transparency, ala the ancient Apple TV Mac OS 9 application! Then I could have a QT video streaming as a background desktop... Please add this!

Well that's great!
If you add the missing "A/V Controls" I would pay for your little prefpane-app!

I hope Apple doesn't put the kibosh on this since the Dev is using the actual Quicktime X icon.

Other than that, great Preference Pane. A big thank you to the Dev!

Works fine here. However, I have not tested the simultaneous recording. NIce to see it's 64 bit too!

::mile:: had trouble on 07 Sep 2009
I was glad that I found this and while it seems to work okay on the Mac mini it's totally useless on the MacBook Pro…! It just won't remember any of the settings, no matter how many times I change them…! So everything is stuck on "Enabled" and whenever I open a web page that has a few movies on it they all start automatically playing…! Drives me nuts…

Does anyone have a suggestion on how to fix this…? Thanks…

Same here. Settings do not stick, at least not on my machine (Early 2008 MacPro, upgraded 10.5>10.6.1).

...did mess up my QTPlayerX, had to delete the preferences. None of the settings worked, it was like the options are wrong labeled or something like that. I had it only for the actual user installed. OS X Language german.

I guess you have to quit the Player before changing values :) it certainly does not work if the app is active while changing values.
