I thought I'd give it a go as I thought nothing could be worse than iTunes built-in app sorter. I was wrong, this is. It's the pits.
It doesn't scroll from one screen to the other so a lot of the time it's a pain to move the apps around and then once you do get them finally as you like them and you ask it to save the changes, the app tells you to restart my phone which I did. When the phone pops back up it totally screws the order of the apps, everything everywhere, NOTHING like I asked the app to do, grrrr! Utter rubbish basically, don't waste twenty mins of your life like I just did eh?
can't you do this in iTunes?
Doesn't seem to work on a 1st Gen jailbroken iPod Touch with 3.1.1 software. When I click on "Read Apps" it churns for a bit and then presents a blank screen. Have tried on 3 different Macs. I hope this is a simple fix.
Wow, this program has come a long way since it's 1.0 release - and now works pretty damn well! There still seem to be a few remaining bugs (mostly display related...when dragging icons around from page to page the icons don't always show up, and when they do it is slowly) but the thing actually works...which is just awesome!
Nice app, too bad though it doesn't work with 5 column and/or 5 row springboards.
If this feature gets added, it'll be perfect!
i just used movement for the first time. it seems to work fine but I am still rebooting the ipod so i don't yet know if my springboard is munged.
i will say that movement is not entirely aware of what is going on in a jailbroken ipod. For instance on my ipod the apps are five apps wide, not the four apps wide per page displayed in movement. So at least for me and other users of boss paper, this is not a WYSIWG application.
Movement doesn't move apps at all just their representations in the springboard. I have some navigation apps from the itunes store that cannot be loaded into my ipod touch which has a external gps attached to it. itunes resists sending some iphone apps to ipods. I wish movement actually moved things not icons.
ok now for the bad news. i just rebooted my ipod and in spite of getting positive feedback from the dialog boxes using movement, none of my icons were moved.
movement has no effect on a ipod 2nd gen 32gb under os3 and red snow with cydia.
Is your device "jailbroken"? This app only works for jailbroken ipods/iphones. ...which, btw, is unfortunate. This is a great, and almost necessary, app for all of us!
I was really excited when I saw this application - finally a way to organize my apps on my computer and not have to constantly drag them around the screen! Unfortunately, in Movement's current state, this simply doesn't work. I connect my iPhone via USB to the computer (wait for it to do it's thing, ala sync up with iTunes) and then click on the "Read Apps" button in Movement. A scroll bar slides down indicating that it is reading the apps - and then nothing...the scroll bar just keeps going without ever actually reading the apps on the iPhone. I have let it sit for nearly 5 min, just in case, and still nothing.
In any case, the idea behind this program is awesome...I just hope this bug(s) can be sorted out so that it actually works.
