VoiceMac is the first Google Voice client for the Mac. Send multiple SMS Messages, send SMS Messages, receive SMS Messages, place calls, look at your call history, receive voicemail, reverse lookup a phone number, and search your contact list in one easy interface. I wanna give this application a spin, but does anyone care to weigh in on the advantages and disadvantages of using a Mac application as opposed to the voice.google.com website itself?

That's assuming you don't use that Google account for other purposes. If so, maybe ask the Growl developers if they can implement smart rules within Growl, or set up a Gmail forwarding rule to another account, and activate that other account as the only one that GrowlMail should display notifications for.
