I had been having issues opening .msg files since moving onto a Mac computer and nothing on the net was of much help. Got forwarded this app and it works perfectly. Excellent app.

I had low expectations; a free app to fix a Microsoft problem. Simple and easy to use. Showed me what I needed, allowed me to print or save as an RTF, and even kept the headers and attachments.

If it only had the ability to import the message in to Mail.app or resend the message. Nice but does not take away from what it does.

Thank you.

Program works perfectly. Just double click on my .msg's.

However, I did have installation problems, and still have "download error" messages. Had to go to MacUpdate to download via browser, adjust my security settings to allow exe, and then open the open the app that way.

Yes, I am a switcher. It's been many years, but I still have some old emails in .msg format from the bad ol' Windows days. Previously I was using TextWrangler to read the text portions of the emails, but it wasn't an ideal solution as there is a lot of other stuff in there in addition to the text, and if there's an attachment, too, then it gets really ugly. MailRaider is a great alternative. It displays the emails without any unnecessary clutter, saves them in rtf format, and provides easy access to any attachments.

The only downside I can find is that all of my emails show up without a date and time, presumably because they have been saved as individual .msg files and not in an Outlook database or something. Fortunately, I always set the date and time of the .msg files to match the email, so I know the correct date and time.

It just works. Thanks! But it's a pitty that Outlook 2011 isn't able to handle their own format...

I'm having trouble to open msg file on my mac.
Files were created on Outlook 2011 (win XP) and I'm trying to open them under Lion, with Mailraider 0.7.
Basically, when I double click a msg file nothing happens. When I try to open from the "File>open" menu, the pop up stalls after I selected my file and clicked open.
Not sure what to do....

Are you sure that your .msg file is an Outlook message file? Could it be that it's an .eml file with the wrong extension? If it is, just rename it .eml and Apple Mail will open it without more ado.
