02 Sep 2011: SEEdit 7.0.0 (paid upgrade?)
21 Jan 2012: SEEdit 7.2.4
01 Feb 2012: SEEdit 8.0.0 (paid upgrade)
You're getting close to the much debated Firefox version path. Firefox is free though.
I purchased SEEdit 6.5.1 in June 2011. That's just 8 months ago and the dev expects me to shell out for 2 upgrades (if 7.0. was a paid upgrade, I'm not sure).

For integration, ease of use, toolkits, and support, SEEdit and Sven Olsson company are unequalled. It's main competitor is BBEdit, and while similar, the seamless and simple integration of features in SEEdit beat BBEdit for functionality.
The rapidity of development, and the responsiveness of the developer to the changing environment of HTML is to be desired in all major software. That SEEdit supports HTML5 so thoroughly is highly commendable, and efficient. This is the only tool that continually supports its user base with packages that assist development. It's on the cutting edge of development.

I have to say I learned a lot about html and css using it every day because it's friendly. Fast to understand every feature especially for beginners.
Plus, the support via email or Skype is something incredible.
I recommend it.

I can't speak highly enough about SEEdit. Sven has always replied quickly to my e-mail support requests, even including links to special versions when I was running Tiger.
The application itself is loaded with all kinds of useful features. The best part about it is you can try a fully functional version before you buy it, so you can explore the app to your heart's content. Even if you're not a coder, SEEdit is so easy to use that you can learn a lot about coding in a very short time.
For example, features like syntax debugging with the Tidy syntax checker are just spectacular. I can't count the number of pages I've created that had annoying little errors that weren't enough to keep the pages from working, but were enough to keep the pages from validating. It would have taken hours to comb through those pages line by line...and still maybe not find the problems. SEEdit's syntax debugging found the problems and fixed them in seconds. If it's important to you that your pages validate, SEEdit's syntax debugging is worth its weight in gold.
Even if you don't care about validation, it's just a huge help to clean up your code so it's easy to inspect, and SEEdit does a superb job there. Other features like "Cleanup to FTP", integration with Cyberduck, and a host of other stuff make SEEdit a must-try if you want edit your XHTML and CSS pages, and the incredibly reasonable cost of a license makes it a no-brainer.
