ZugVoegel... A flocking birds simulator originally designed for a projection effect in the contemporary ballet, Zugvögel, migratory birds in English, choreographed by Jiř Kylián, premiered in the Bavarian State Opera in Munich, Germany in May 3, 2009.

The simulation is mainly based on BOIDS algorithm developed by C. Reynolds that forms a complex collective behavior using local interaction among neighboring agents. By employing a technique to accelerate the calculation, this software handles thousands of agents in 3D virtual space in real time.
