I wonder when will they issue an update for the Mini DisplayPort to DVI adapter. I am having a problem with the video in the latest 24" iMac on the primary screen when I connect my secondary screen. When I take it off while the video is running, the video goes back to normal without any flickering.
No, just randomly. Search "MacBook Pro screen flicker" in the support forums at Apple, there's a ton of posts about it. The top 2/3 of the screen will flash black for a split second. Sometimes it happens a lot (50x a day) sometimes it never happens.
Some people think it has to do with using the 9600 vs 9400 graphics chip. It happens for me with both. Some people have had Apple swap their logic boards to no avail, either. Maybe they fixed the issue in newer models (I got mine right when they came out last year), but they certainly haven't figured out a fix for those who bought early...
