Version 2.0.3:
This version delivers revised graphics, new special effects as well as Mac OS X 10.7 compatibility updates.
Requirements
PPC / Intel, G4 (or better) or Intel Mac, Mac OS X 10.4.11 or later
Be the first to recommend a similar software title.
Each game lasts maybe 20 or 30 seconds. Difficult to control/aim the ball. Appears to be only one level of play, no easier level.
Made my MacBook Pro generate a lot of heat, fans ramped up to 6000 rpms.
I put Spinball into full screen mode and then was unable to access Spinball's menubar.
Could find no way to exit full screen mode, pressed escape key but couldn't exit.
Had to do a hard shutdown of my MacBook Pro by pressing the power button; this was the only way I could find to exit full screen mode or the game itself.
A real POS. Jalada did a really poor job putting this game together.
Demo mode allowed me very little time to try out Spinball....maybe 20 or 30 seconds before 'Out of time' was called.
Well screw this;if Jalada won't allow a decent amount of play time to try this out then I definitely will NOT purchase Spinball.
jalada's Spinball is a game that is probably familiar to almost anyone. The entry for the Mac is an excellent entry in this long running series of games that have appeared on almost every console imaginable. The concept is simple; move your paddle along the bottom of your screen while hitting a ball to destroy all blocks that are on the top screen. It sounds simple and it is...in the beginning. As you progress through the different stages you find some that are amazingly simple and others that take you several run throughs to complete. There are also assorted power ups you can collect throughout the levels as well. Some are more helpful than others and you'll learn the ones that will help you as you play. Some of them do more harm than good sometimes. Play the game and you will know what I mean. For me the game seemed a little boring the first time I played it but then I found myself not wanting to put it down.
I was so surprised, when I first played jalada's Spinball. After a few rounds of play, I thought that I was in the late eighties when I first played Arkanoid.
But now all is in real 3D with a great game play and nice music.
This refuses to run on my MacBookPro
I even tried running it under "Rosetta"
and also in a "Ram Disk".
I can only get to the "Insert Coin" command.
Nothing beyond that.

Go into the "Game" menu and enter "Insert Coin". After that activate in the same menu "New Game".

Your mission is to prevent the ball from ever falling below the paddle, and to eliminate every brick from the current level in order to be granted access to the next level. The paddle has the ability to transform in two ways. One is by collecting the blue Enlarge barrel which extends the length of the paddle. The other is by collecting the red barrel which transforms the paddle to a cannon. In this configuration, you can fire cannonballs into the deep of the screen.
Enemies may also appear on the screen and slowly make their way down to the bottom of the screen. Your paddle can crash into these enemies which brings your paddle to explosion.
Enjoy the delightful sound, graphics and gameplay!
