I don't suppose anyone's created an Action to paste formatted text (from various sources) as BBCode, have they?
Strangely enough, anything I copy with text run through OpenOffice's 'BBKode' extension *doesn't* seem to show up in ClipMenu's list, even though it is on the clipboard.

1) Provide a setting to show history on the root popup menu to make it as quick and simple as possible to see/paste
2) Provide a setting to choose the hotkey(s) for the individual history items as the current ones conflict with Chrome.
I love the small size and functionality of this program and hope my suggestions will be implemented.

recently, clipmenu stopped capturing some images (it captures all text). for example if i copy some images from the browser or an icon image from path finder's preview pane, it copies 2 or 3 and then stops capturing. it appears to be random and if i flush the clipboard history and try to copy an image which failed before, it now works.
so i try butler's clipboard function again (which also supports text and image snippets) and it seems to work flawlessly now. go figure.

Very customizable, and you can't beat the price. Doesn't hog RAM, or other resources. Best clipboard utility I've used yet.

From the ReadMe file:
"Double-click on the ClipMenu icon to launch it. If it is successfully launched, you could see the application icon on status bar."
I don't understand how one is supposed to see it from the status bar in Finder and it certainly doesn't show up in the Safari status bar. From here is one of the two ways one is supposed to access ClipMenu items and it doesn't work.
I did put the app icon on my menu bar and that turns the app on when clicked; however, the only way still to access the ClipMenu items is with the hot key (CMD-Shift+V).
Hence I can't give it a sterling rating, although I find that it does seem stable, as it has not caused any crashes.

"ClipMenu stores clipboard histories such as plain text, rich texts format, PDF, PICT, and TIFF image. You can access in the menubar or by using hot key."
And it does all that and more. So I'd say it works as advertised :)
I've never had a problem with it, perhaps you should double check your settings in preferences, as it is quite customizable.
Only thing missing is ability to drag, or move via "Actions", a clip from history to snippets. Otherwise it covers all my needs and more.

So it does, now that you mentioned it. However this is not what it says in the ReadMe file on the dmg, which is what I look at first when using new software.
Furthermore, it wasn't obvious that it was on the menu bar for me because I use Magic Menu, so the menu bar isn't constantly staring me in the face, so I didn't notice the icon there and only thought about looking there a day later.
In any case, the app does work as advertised HERE, but not how it is explained in the ReadMe file that comes with it -- something the developer might think about fixing. I'd revise my rating upwards, if I knew how to.

hands down, it all comes to a sweet conclusion: a clipboard manager app should be able to be fully operated by keyboard only (do you still right click and copy and paste?) and clipmenu delivers.
clipmenu can store up to 100 clipboards easily and its snippet feature, for regularly used text snippets, or its expansive java script actions for text formatting are killer ones. and all can be applied using the keyboard.
i like that the text in the menu shows up alligned so i set both thumbs for images and file type icons to 32px so the text afterwards stars at the same point.
one quirk i have is that i want to exclude file and folder copying from clipmenu but i think it wonly works in finder.
i use path finder and if i disable the filename type in preferences, i still get copied item paths in clipmenu. the only way is to disable the plain text type as well.
i can add path finder using the exclusions feature but then i can't grab anything from it, including plain text or images which i do want to copy.
another minor issue is with some websites which have javascript pop up windows with a text field (insert link in a forum, or username and pass). i focus the field, call clipmenu and press enter on an item but it doesn't get pasted.
truth be told, it doesn't bother me much since the item gets copied as the latest (first in line) into the clipboard, so from there, i just have to press the default command-v and it works.
