Check for update in Portrait professional 10.8.2 running on my Mac stated that the ;attest version is 10.8.2

And on the developer's site, there is no 10.9.3?

So where on earth I can update my paid version 10.8.2 to 10.9.3?

Paid for the upgrade a few days ago, received a gibberish of an email with no NON-trial version download link. This is, by the way, the only "software" I know of - that has no trial version activation property. That's unique - be prudent, developers, not to take my statement for a compliment - because it's not!

For me, it's either "You're going to provide me a proper NON-trial version" download link, or "Please, do see to it that the money I squandered on your effort (to send me a template email with no useful contents, is transferred back to my PayPal account", simple!

Perfect app. The only flaw: The UI is cluttered with sliders - a tribute to the feature richness. A search-option with live hit-list would make it much easier to find the right one. Beside this it is a must-have app for all portrait-pros. Guess you can do everything with Photoshop but I guarantee, you going to need much more time. The so called face-detection does not recognize anything at all by itself !!!, but you need only a few clicks for getting perfect Alpha-masks for all relevant face-parts. Applying Filters or morph the face is a pleasure. You will never miss a real auto-detection.

This is not a review but a comment and question.
I downloaded and installed the program and find it useful. My problem is the hoops you have to jump through to get it registered. The scheme seems worse than BIAS and Adobe put together. I have avoided all software that dump this kind of scheme on users. You have to sign up, register just to have questions answered about program use. I have passed the program up before but the price has been dropped so I am considering it now.

My question is to any one who has used this program is putting up with the developers crap worth it. What I was able to do with the demo was impressive.

I have a Mac Pro and a Mac Book Pro and want to know if I can run the program on both machines. I travel and process my files with the MacBook Pro when traveling. I was unable to get this information unless I register. Basic information should be available with out jumping through hoops.

My initial impression is to stay away from this company.

My clients are blown away by images I've retouched with this. The face distortion tool is weird; why would you reshape someone's face? But everything else is awesome, well except the looks. It looks like it was designed by an accountant with no sense of style, pretty bad when you're catering to artists! Usually, I dump apps that are as ugly-as-sin, but I keep this one because there's really nothing else like it! So, if you do lots of tight portraits, this is a must-have... .

I've tested Portrait Professional yesterday and two hours later I bought it. The user interface could be a bit more polished mac-like, but what's much more important: It guides you very fast through every step so it needs no time for learning it. The results are astonishing and so the price tag is right for me.
