For Windows utorrent is the most used torrent client and probably the best. But the OSX version is not that good.

Transmission is much better imo

I've been a long time user of uTorrent on windows, and when I made the switch to Mac I got torrent first. I had heard some good things about transmission on the mac, so I decided to try it and see if it was any better. The interface of transmission is very nice, better than uTorrent, but looks don't count for anything when the download hangs. Transmission seems to be incapable of downloading larger torrent files, where as i've never had any problems with uTorrent downloading files as large as 50GB. uTorrent just does what it does, and does it well, I don't need features like live streaming etc, I just want a stable, fast torrent downloader, and although uTorrent DOES have these features, they don't cause any problems for me.

Much faster than transmission but with fewer options than transmission and its interface is not native. But because Windows users are widely used utorrent, the connection with these is much faster and also download.

Bye-bye Transmission... My old friend...
Finally a Torrent client that works! No hangs, no slowdown.
Very fast and stable.
Only missing an option to prevent my Mac to sleep.

you could download and install the very lightweight (254K) Caffeine to prevent your mac from sleeping.

The new icon badge showing the number of completed torrents in the dock is a welcome addition!
No more need to bring uTorrent in foreground to check if some download has completed.

This program works unless you quit and restart. If you quit for any reason it cannot re-establish downloads and everything is lost. Frickin retarded! You can have 99.99% of a download or 1% it doesn't matter it cannot re-establish the torrent and continue. This problem does not occur with BitTorrent or nay other torrent clients. This renders this program useless. The inability to resume a torrent is ridiculous. This has occurred on several computers under both 10.5 and 10.6 and multiple versions of this program. I don't know why it cannot do this but I won't be using it ever again.

I can't get Utorrent to connect to Demonoid, does anyone else have this issue? All other apps like Transmission have no problems.

Updated to 0.9.3 and now have a problem - it is crushing all the times. I would love to downgrade to the previous version with which I had no problem at all! Just switched from Transmission and the only thing I miss - I can't choose the itmes within torrent as I did in Transmission. I am happy with all the rest - especially with the effective speeds of download/upload.

Is there WebUI for the mac version?

I followed the instructions on http://www.utorrent.com/documentation/webui/

"Enable and configure the WebUI in µTorrent (Preferences -> Advanced -> WebUI"

There is no advanced section in the preferences!

Well, it launches. It finds and loads torrent files. It finds the tracker. Get's peer and seed info. But then the trouble starts. Although it finds the peers and seeds, and at times connects to a few, no data goes in or out. Port is open. Even tried letting it map the port. Both ways I get a green light and functioning connection, but no data transfer. I have never seen it connect to more than 4 peers at a time and zero data transfer. I even let it sit there all night and same situation. It also does not retain preferences across relaunches. The minute you quit, all preferences are reset to stock. After using this on Wintels, I was very excited to see it in action on a Mac. Very disappointing so far. I hope they get the bugs worked out.
