Haven't been able to download the files.
Installer downloads and runs, click on new install, and load bar shows, then times out with applescript error
zero response from server.

Oh well...

@FR34CK: I will look into that & thank you for telling me that your machine is ppc. That could possibly be the problem, as I was unable to test the betas on PPC computers

@VB-23: servebox is a completely different install of apache & all the other services. The servebox app itself only controls them, among other features.

@ROOSTER: The app does not come in a package due to the fact that package maker was acting up, and would not install properly. What kind of errors were you receiving? You can post at the servebox forums (http://software.alexcoomans.com/forum/) and I can help you there.

Everything is installed into a folder called servebox in your applications folder. So only a drag to the trash is required for installation.

I agree that this should come in an installer package instead of a download applet that doesn't give you a clue as to where things are going to be put and what it's going to do to your system.

It took me several tries and I kept getting errors similar to the ones posted earlier. Eventually it installed for no apparent reason...I hadn't done anything different other than double-click and cross my fingers.

On a positive note...I really like the idea of having this type of control in the GUI. This developer has a good idea and I hope to see further developments.

Please consider a standalone packages installer for the distribution and deployment of this solution. Also consider making this a single Preference Pane which i my opinion is where control panel like stuff belongs.

Thanks for the effort and a great idea!

While this looks like it could be interesting, I don't really feel comfortable with the distribution method and lack of clear information on what it does and how. Does this run a separate instance of Apache, like MAMP, or is it an interface for controlling the one that ships with OS X? I can appreciate the developer's desire to reduce download size, but if this was distributed as a package for use with the standard Installer, I could at least take a peek inside to see what I was installing.

As is it, I am unfortunately going to pass on trying this out.
