A great app for baby boomers and their kids. Probably, an even greater one for medical professionals.
Have you ever been in a doctor's office and when asked what pill you are taking, you remember part of the name, but know what the pill looks like. This app allows you to search and find medicines easily.
It shows the purpose and side-effects of medications. It also shows contra-indications.
Cons: Most people will only require the free app, yet there are constant ads - at least when you first install and start using this, to buy an expensive ($99 +) annual license.
Still, once you get by the ads, the app is terrific.
Epocrates is geared primarily to the medical professional. The paid subscription throws in tons of extras including drug interactions, medical test results, dictionaries, etc. For me, it is indispensable. I no longer even need to purchase a PDR (Physician's Desk Reference). It's actually better!
