PreferenceCleaner... Preference files can become corrupt and cause an application to become unstable. Alternatively, if an application has a large array of preferences you might find it simpler to delete the files than to locate a setting which has enabled an undesired behaviour. PreferenceCleaner is a utility which aims to simplify the task of deleting preference files.
PreferenceCleaner allows you create and store batch lists of files to be deleted in the event that you need to remove the same files repeatedly.
What's New
Version 1.3:
PreferenceCleaner now requests authorisation if it requires elevated priveleges to delete a file. Previously it would fail.
It also now has a tab for deleting certain the preferences for certain operating system components.
The "Simple" tab has been removed, as it no longer served any real purpose. Accordingly, the "Advanced" tab has been renamed.
Requirements
PPC / Intel, Mac OS X 10.4.4 or later
What we really need is an application which detect preference files which are not associated with any application, i.e files of applications where we have deleted the applications but forgot to delete their preference files.
Thanks for your comment. Now that I see this isn't what we thought it was, off on another hunt. But, I take this moment to thank the dev, sincerely, for contributing to the community. Much appreciated!
