This is great software. The trouble, and I mean Trouble, is their licensing. It makes Adobe look like amateurs. Switching/transferring to new computer means you find the buyer/inheritor of your old computer (if you didn't deactivate it), make them download the trial software download, activate with YOUR license number and then deactivate. This is unbelievable. As a NAPP Member I think Tiffen should be brought up to speed and modernized or boycotted. Can't activate either my Standalone OR my Photoshop Plug-In cause they were on an old computer I wiped clean. Never again will I buy Tiffen. Especially when NIK licensing makes sense with fantastic products. Yes, I'm mad.

This is a very nice filter to own.

The Aperture version of this (and all other aperture plugins for that matter) will be a lot more useful when the day comes that Apple allows you to run plugins non destructively instead of this malarky with just allowing export filters. Not tiffen's fault of course.

Until then I am going to use the photoshop version and make a round trip through photoshop. At least there I can layer effects and have something I can return to for editing..

This is kinda crazy! The standalone version is $99 but the Aperture plugin is $299? That make the plugin $100 more than Aperture itself.

Also the upgrade for the Aperture plugin is $89 regardless when you purchased v. 1.

Tiffen must think we are made of money. I've been using TIffen Dfx for about 6 months and it is OK, but I think I'm stop feeding them my hard earned cash.

I've been using Tiffen Dfx plug-ins for Photoshop for years and find them indispensible. Some of the very finest available... I'm sure this software for Aperture will please as well.

Will not work for me on my G5 system 10.5.4 and Aperture 2.1.1 further more will not accept trial version if you are with a french system had to return to US localisation to at least be able to try to activate it for trial, but it hangs and sends a notification for relaunh or qui. So it's a no go for me.

See my later Comment. I refuse to buy Tiffen products again due to extremely onerous licensing requirements.
