HELLO EVERYONE. I MAY HAVE FOUND A SOLUTION!!! This may be a Mac OS X issue. I just stumbled over USB Monitor 1.1.1 (free) here at MacUpdate and am now using it in OS X Tiger (10.4.6). I have been able to access my Zip drive for the first time ever on my G5!!!
I always used to have issues with my Zip100 drive, crashes etc and now on OS X.2 it doesn't even show up in Apple System Profiler half the time. I think it's dead and now nothing but an excuse to get a Zip250

you might try zapping the PRAM and/or resetting the PowerManager (if applicable) on your Mac

Works very poorly. I had continual crashes and incompatability with OSX 10.2. Iomega said it would be a fee months before it is resolved( as of May 1). The drivers in OSX 10.2 alow you to use your zip, but you better wait for their new version to use tools without conflicts.

After three years, Iomega STILL doesn't support the Clik drive PC card on OS X! Give me a break. My zip drive works fine without their crummy hacked tools and I use psync to synchronize folders and its works fine. I expect vendors to support ALL theri hardware on a platform, not just one type of drive that is already supported by the OS vendor. Sheesh. Iomega is a low-rate vendor. Still for free I have to give it 3s in the otehr categories--besides supporting the hardware (which they don't) it is hard to put a rating on free software. Free is as free does.

Has anyone actually installed this? I downloaded the installer, but it tells me "The software to be installed requires Administrator or higher level access privileges." I'm logged in as root.

Version 3.5 fixes all the issues
Slowdown problems are fixed on USB Zip 100 above files copy before you can even speak.
Features: Full of good usefull features I would of liked to get a special version of quicksync with it that would of allowed us to copy more than one item to a zip for backup purposes Im kind of mad they cant do better than the cheapo version 1.0 quicksync but I deleted this version of quicksync find it and copy machine. I wish they would of kept copy machine that utility was usefull so it seems like they are taking stuff away from us. Find it was OK but I have a good memory so I never used it
Iomega allways makes easy to use software. I think they could updtate the help to work with the new HTML based help in OS 9 but this is irrelevent due to the fact that me and many otheres are on X
This version also works great on OS X
Stability once again no problems like in the past I think they took a hint
value is high because a lot of people use this software and it is useful
4 for features because there is no copy machine and no good backup solution other than that it gets a 4 because of the features the stuff they kept with iomegaware has
MacOSX10.1.3 G4733 also running classic 9.2.2

If you use Findit and have enjoyed being able to launch it from the control strip in the past then do not download and install this 'update.' It does not come with findit. It is greyed out in the control strip now.
I have put the copy oif findit I wisely saved in with the tools and restarted but it will no longer launch from within the control strip.
