Menu Eclipse helps you customize your menubar in eye-catching new ways.
Dim, Colorize and Scrub the menu bar.
Gain better focus on your work & play, and away from the menu bar.
Runs in the background, and does not show up in the Dock.
OS X Lion: Works as expected, but not with the fullscreen mode - added a hotkey as a workaround.

Bought it a couple of days ago, been working fine, now won't work under any circumstances - none of the settings work, none of the options stick, nothing I do has any effect on its behaviour. A shame, was enjoying the app but it looks like it's broke!
Eric, the wise thing to do would be to contact me (the developer) rather than writting a comment about it here. I haven't heard or experienced the problems that you are describing...seems that there maybe something else - anyway please contact me if you wan't to solve your problems. support@xybernic.com
I've tried this in the past, but I had some issues with how my menubar appeared. I'm not saying it's bad; it just didn't meet personal standards. I went with a combo of Leo ColorBar and Nocturne, both of which are free. So, now they have a new version of this, and I'm open to trying it, but for some apocalyptic reason, it seems that developers who used to offer demo versions are now no longer able to do so. There's no way I'm spending $3 just to see if this new improved version does what I need.
Works great. Its amazing how much the menubar can be a distraction when your program window is maximised to take up the full screen. menueclipse fixes that quite well.
Would be good if the old icon menu from 2.0 was back.
I remember trying this app years ago when it was free :)) I just paid $2 for it though, so for that, i reckon a feature that actually hides the menubar for all applications would be a good thankyou from the developer, lol.

Yes, burn-in is still a problem with LCDs... but you have to leave the monitor on with a static image for so long its pretty much NOT a problem. ;)
