I evaluate this nice software with a very good pricing!!!
I needed for my retail shop, but...my problems start on printing receipts, that is a pretty important area.
I didn't follow the hardware specifications. Printer is a printer, no an magical item, Start Micronics printer is hard to find in Spain.
Then I bought a Orient D880 thermal printer with a driver for osx.
The printer runs properly on osx 10.6 with excel, checkout app(POS), etc... but not on Poshier.
Amazing, I spent days trying different solutions, until I use a third partner driver (peninsula-group.com) no way... always eating part of the text on the right side, where is the pricing located.
Anyway the important is that...I eamail several times to Anotherpos company, with the intention of buy that software, but they never reply me to talk about my subject. This point make me scare of the future service and maintenance.
What another options we still remain, Lightspeed with a prohibitive pricing, checkout also have some abusive pricing?
Now I am trying to install an Oracle Virtual Machine with linux Ubuntu, over there you can find a POS free called Lemonpos... but I fault in the data base installation... thats start to be hard.
Another invention that I am doing if I can find a software is build a excel sheet with a small data bas.
Automatically on read a bar code, all the data (description, pricing) go to the line. Thats runs already isn't a software but is a tool for make a ticket receive until I find the right software.

My first bug was the ticket printing , which I managed to solve all by myself because the technical support you pay for is completely absurd. They won't solve your problems or they won't answer, there are no forums of users which would help, there are no phones to call a customer service, your support is someone's gmail account, how professional is that??
The pros seems to be a lot , it is really easy to use , has all the features anyone could want and it's pretty. But this morning I opened my software to find my inventory of 500 items I already saved with pics and everything is missing and that is enough reason for me to not recommend anyone to buy it, I'm changing my POS right now, I can't afford waiting for an answer and I can't even dream for a refund, I wonder if they ever going to answer my first issues at all.

This software is meant for the most basic POS uses. We had a very small retail shop selling snacks and drinks. It handled our needs quite well. My main issue is security. If there's only one person using the system, you should be fine.

So, were you only using Poshier for "countertop" sales? I've been looking for OS X "POS" software to serve that purpose as a possible replacement for Windows-based Restaurant Pro Express (in two small, single-register shops with relatively simple usage). Still haven't found any OS X product that pops out as a good fit for that.

Not sure if that means Poshier doesn't support multiple users and/or if it's multi-user support is insecure. If only the latter that may not be a concern for my purposes.
I'll contact AnotherPOS for more details.

If I make glass art, does that make me any less of an artist than one that paints with oils? Is a poet any less of a poet to type their prose over writing it longhand?
The bottom line is that the developer has made a tool for others that works for them and others, so they must be doing something right.
