By the way: It would be fine if the developers would clearly communicate on their website that AtomicView is no longer developed.

To cut to the chase, Antzero is a small company, and if you buy AtomicView now, be aware that it will take a long time (months or years) until AtomicView makes the next step forward.

I have been trying AV for two weeks with a limited amount of photos (Approx 1000)
What I like : pretty, nice colours, really fast.
What I don't like : the way you have to import photos (I much prefer the way Lyn or sigh- iView- let you navigate your HD and choose a folder) which leaves me totally lost at times ; the GUI is so "customizable" (?) that I sometimee can't revert to where I started from! The image display is not as fast as it is supposed to be (approx one second before the image is clear which is rather long if you wish to review your photos) ; not possible to export "tagged" photos as in iView.

iView MediaPro was/is much better (still runs on 10.6 if you have a copy around). For preview without ratings, give Lyn a try. Lightning fast RAW previews.

I'm looking for a replacement for iView Media Pro and can't afford PhotoMechanic.
Has anyone tried this with a large photo library? Thanks

What do you mean by "a large photo library"? In my library, there are 30'000 photos, and AtomicView handles them well and fast. The problem I have with AtomicView is that I cannot do sophisticated renaming of my photos and that there is no template based HTML export.

Have to try it to make your own judgement...for myself I found my new iView Media Pro.
Much faster, it use all the cores of your Mac, you can work during importation, catalogs all your medias.
The screenshot presented here are not up with the beauty of the soft...I choose in the pref something more dark ala LR.
And this is only version 1.0..developpers are very reactives and are working hard on suggestions for the future ver.
I am delighted...do you a favor and go for a test drive...
There is a promo for early adopters...and the licence is good for two Mac.
Have a good day all.

The myriad of options for viewing and watching media is astounding. Being able to view 4 movies at the same time while zooming in and swapping files in real time is just about the most amazing thing I seen on my Mac.
And finally a program that uses multiprocessors in my Mac Pro.
I think the only downside is the Price. Even with the 30% off discount I may have to drool and lust for this amazing app.
