This "miracle" is a utility Blitz, designed for all users running heavy applications. They are sometimes really difficult to roll over among many smaller processes, thus, contribute to this wide variety of factors: from the amount of RAM, and ending with high-speed characteristics of the hard disk.
In this case, Blitz can focus on this "monster", resulting in a large layout in Photoshop or three-dimensional rendering to be processed relatively quickly. Utility artificially inhibits the "all other processes in the system by allocating all available resources for a specific process or processes, if more than one.
Immediately after launching the application in the menu bar you will see its icon. If you click the mouse on it, then the menu will display a list of all running applications (for obvious reasons, the system processes the utility does not obey), but at the very top of the list - the current program.
If you select this menu item «Focus on», then next to the names of all other programs will pause icon, their windows will be slightly blurry, but take away their resources in this case the Finder. Undo can focus point «Defocus».
The user can "slow down" certain applications by selecting them in the list.
Subjectively, on my computer, I felt a performance boost!
I will say this - I was satisfied with the program Blitz.
Thanks to the developers for a very useful product!
Best Regards Vitaly!

My opinion: This is just another greedy dev looking to cash in on MAS where users can no longer try apps before buying them.
If you need an app like this go with App Tamer imo. Great dev, great app. I do not own it but if I had the need for this type of app again I would buy App Tamer.

If you use this with Parallels, you'll be disappointed as it doesn't seem to give any extra CPU to it.
I've also had it crash on me- silently, the menu bar icon just disappears- while an app is focused and then you're *really* in trouble because everything hangs and becomes unresponsive. Even relaunching the app doesn't help. You have to logout and back in to get back to work.
I've lost condfidence in using this product until the next update ships.

And just how many times do we have to learn another dopey name for this plain app? I thought at least "Freeze Frame" (and its camera icon paired with the shutter sound) was meaningful and way more creative to explain the idea of "freeze apps". I dislike the new flower icon, it made no connection to the name Bokeh or Blitz or the process of renice whatsoever, and it looks like the Fire Flower from the Super Mario Bros, too.

Sorry about the many name changes. This most recent one was due to the purchase of the name by Alien Skin Software, for their Photoshop plugin. I agree that the flower makes absolutely no sense in the "Blitz" context, but it was a very slight joke in the same vein as "Bokeh". You see, the flower icon is used on many cameras to represent the macro mode, which is a mode that is used to produce bokeh on very up-close photos. While it was admittedly a joke not many people would get, we couldn't think of anything better at the time.
Bokeh *is* still in development, but it's up in the air with several other applications. We hope to have another release coming soon.
Thanks for your comments,
