Yes, it will not prevent when you close the lid. It's not the purpose of the application.
Maybe I look to add this feature.

Well, preventing sleep mode when lid is closed on a laptop could pose a real safety issue, i.e., if lid is closed and laptop is then put into a bag while laptop is still on, it could cause laptop to overheat, possibly causing a fire; a definite problem on an airplane flight.

Understood - you need to be careful.

I use InsomniaX right now so that I can close my lid while I carry my laptop from my office on the 2nd floor to the lab on the first. That way, I don't lose the wireless connection and I don't need to reestablish all of the SSH sessions that were active at the time... so it's sleeping with the lid closed for about three minutes tops.

Clicking on "Put Screen To Sleep" in zonEnergy 1.0.1 instantly causes a kernel panic on my 17" Powerbook, every time. Don't know if it's just my issue or others experience this anomaly as well.
