HotBox is a background application that allows you to make anything that's on screen become full screen. Just press a hot key, drag a box around whatever you like, and it'll zoom in and completely fill your monitor! Works great with internet videos, flash movies, photos, or anything else you want to see big!
A pity it has not been updated since years, it's working ok for me in 10.5.8 on a PPC machine.
Sometimes, the image slips away while I'm zoomed in, but I can't accuse Hotbox for sure.
Otherwise it's perfectly stable and does its job!
The great thing about it is that it's system wide so you can quickly zoom anything.
The only additionnal feature I could dream of would be to be able to keep on working in a zoomed area instead of it being treated as an image (i.e when you're filling fields on a web page, for example), but as long as you use it for images, it's perfect!
Thanks Brian!
Just one function away from 5 stars:
Make it (optional to) show the cursor when zoomed. I hoped to be able to use this app for graphical niggling; now it's just for viewing…
I have to say that this is absolutely awesome ... Thank you so much for creating it!
I can now edit text in full view no matter what app I'm using. And I can use it for not only text, but any type of information. I.e., viewing web pages in full screen!
The only request I would have is that it renders text more clearly in full screen. Instead of increasing its size like an image, rather increase its font size. If this is possible in current implementation I know not, but I thought I'd throw it out there.
And lastly, be able to see the curser in full view would also be desirable.
This is a most desired utility!
Thank you again.
