I'm still on a PPC and loved the DVD Hunter while it lasted. Amazon changed it's code or something and although the author told me he planned to update that part of the legacy version several time . . . it never happened.

So for those who see the legacy version on his website--don't waste time downloading it. It actually should be removed (the same for all his legacy versions) since it doesn't function beyond a basic, 100% manual entry device.

I tried DVD Hunter for the first time yesterday. I've been using DVDPedia for a few years now so have a large collection in DVDPedia. I tried imported into DVD Hunter from a DVDPedia 5.1.2 exported .dvdpedia file but the import failed. Any idea what I can do to get importing to work or why it failed?

BTW, I'm using Mountain Lion 10.8.2.

Same here with Mavericks, cannot import DVDpedia library. I navigate to the DVDpedia library in Application Support but all the library files are grayed out.

Oh well, DVDpedia works great, I just thought I'd try DVD Hunter on a lark.

I totally love the hunter collection, dvd, games, anything, but I would love an Anime Hunter!, that would be awesome, instead of syncing with amazon, having it synced with mcanime, unfortunately i can't contact the developer to suggest it :/ still would be awesome and really simple to do from the other hunter apps

I am in awe of this app. I've been a long time user of DVDpedia but was starting to find it a little cumbersome to maintain and the GUI a little dated. I have a large collection that took a very long time to get it to the level I wanted so my biggest consideration was being able to export all the data, including covers, in tact.

When I looked at the available plugins and saw a .pedia import tool I was over the moon, the whole transfer process from DVDpedia to DVD Hunter took less than 10 mins and went without a hitch. Completely painless which is rare when migrating databases.

The only criticism I have is the icon, it is truly hideous - but in the scheme of things, minor and easily changed.

This app has everything you need for a modern collection including an iOS app - and they are both free, which is unbelievable. A big thank you to the developer.

Agreed, the icon is hideous. The developer could probably solicit user contributions and end up with a great icon.

This is great app...and for free!
I had been using AllMyMovies for Windows before switching to the Mac but that software isn't supported.
What a great find this is. Thanks to the developer for this.

This FREE program is amazing!! Able to scan the UPC barcode using Mac's camera. This program will retrieve data on DVDs, Blu-rays, VHS tapes AND audio/music CDs. A nice surprise!! It pulls the information and DVD or CD covers. Now-scanning CDs isn't what it was designed for, so it won't list tracks, but a great way to at least quickly scan your CD library (for those of us that still have CDs).

Thanks for a great program!!
