Say.app does the same job and has a size of only 136KB unzipped. You can also use a simple Automator action to do just that.

Maybe it's me but why do you need an app to do this? Open the terminal and type say and the thing you want it to say

Somewhere along the line, there became one too many apps to accomplish this. Personally, I like Orator best.
