• Handsome pop-up window to browse in a Cover Flow like view.
• Minimal UI clutter. Can run in the background without a dock or a menu item.
• Keyboard controls for the standard next/play/pause/etc… Can also rate with the keyboard. Big deal to me.
• Last.fm integration. Just scrobbing but their "upgrade" Everplay goes a lot further in this direction.
The Bad:
• Hoards memory like there's no tomorrow. Often mirrors iTunes memory usage. I wouldn't mind this so much but this leads me to the next point.
• After running for a while, keyboard combos don't immediately register. If you're eating that much RAM, could you make good use of it and be responsive? I'm talking 5-7 second delays while the system is pretty much idle.
• Quitting iTunes will randomly confuse Cover Stream and try to relaunch iTunes.
• Will often forget to "Scrob" to last.fm. Must relaunch to remind it.
• Column position for album tracks not remembered. It's a beautiful app but that last 10% isn't there.
The Ugly:
• This is the end of the line. Except for any glaring errors preventing it from running, all future developments will go into Everplay. This is according to the Snarbsoft forums.
• "Free upgrades for life!" is the claim made on the product homepage. Life? End of life? What?
• The features in Everplay was intended to be in Cover Stream but it diverged so badly that their customers objected. Surprising? I don't think so. Now they are split into two products.
• You can upgrade at a discount. I have no problems with this but Snarbsoft should be clear about what you're buying. I shouldn't have to dig into their forums to find out that Cover Stream has effectively reached EOL.
Overall it's a good product but the creators lack clear direction and I believe it has hurt them since there was a lot of potential for Cover Stream.

This seems really odd to me and rather limiting. I'm trying to set up my mac mini as a media hub with a touch screen display so having the option to have all the controls in full screen view would be great. Would that be possible in an upcoming update?
Also, it would look better if the albums spun around like they do on the ipod touch with tracks on the back of the album art.

There are some other flaws that make it painful to use:
• Column widths aren't remembered. The tracks pane gets a huge width with wasted space by default and it can't be changed so that the app remembers it when relaunched.
• The progress bar is confusing, I thought it was drag-able area in the window when I first used the app. So when I tried moving the window, instead I found it was a progress bar.
• Double-clicking on an album doesn't play the album. One needs to click on an album and then go to the track listing, and double click on a track. Not as user-friendly as it could be.
• When hovering over the OSD (on screen display) the pop-up menu is unpredictable, sometimes it appears sometimes it doesn't, also it disappears too easily, and the position is also unpredictable. Also when using the OSD on a secondary display, the pop-up menu appears on the primary display.
• Ratings can't be edited visually.

I use to set in the Cover Stream's Preference to open and close along with iTunes, but I have a problem when I close the itunes Cover Stream stays on. After i quit iTunes immediately iTunes open again (by it self, i dont touch anything) and Cover Stream closes, but now itunes is open, and always i need to quit iTunes twice...

I really like this app, but it's buggy yet...so, i have a question to the dev.
Are you forget Cover Stream? i don't need more functions, All I need is this
program to work fine.
i need to know if this app is discontinued, to switch to another similar app.
(but not everplay, because I do not want to spend more money on this & simply I don't like)
The bugs in my mac are:
1. When quiting itunes, the itunes starts again, and i need to quit twice, im not shure but, I think the problem is in the "Cover Stream launcher"
2. The repeat button don't work in the Cover Stream controls.
There is a little bug that makes the app crashing.
Once you're in full screen, clicking on the "I" in the lower left corner results in the app crashing!
Bye

I purchesed just yesterday CoverStream and now I begin to meet some problems with the new version 1.1.3.
Cove Stream display all the albums of iTunes Library, but the albums of some artists is like they doesn't exist and when I try to open, with a double clich CS I don't see any informatoins abuot the sogs.
After that CS crash continuosly and I have to be carefull on the list that I tray to play, because they are showed on CS but they are very dangerous and doesn't show the list of the songs.
A lot of this albums are regulary buy from the apple store.
Some of these are a part of a compilation some others not.
I am waiting for a solution.
Thanks.
