In most cases/games you can make the orcs run a zig of arrow towers on one half of the playing field (and then add fire towers, nuclear towers, etc. on the center line of the playing field, and mirror the zig zag on the other side of the playing field...then you can artificially 'trap' the orcs in this maze of zig zags by closing off on end of the zig zag with a wall, making the orcs turn around to head for the other exit. The once they get close to the other exit, you close up that exit (by first selling the wall that's blocking the other end).
Exploiting this flaw, I can beat all games on Impossible difficulty and can reach Wave 185 on Infinite on Open Warfare (at this point the orcs are simply way too fast and I can't properly close up the maze on one end without having some orcs leak out the other end.)
Still...anyone can attest that reaching Wave 185 is impressive and impossible without using the strategy I've provided.

I had to go and read that and find out what i'm NOT doing! I was hoping somebody would post a big ole spoiler! )8^(
I find some of the variants uninteresting and tedious, but i was just about to have a look around to see how i was doing on Infinite Open Combat because i finally beat my old score by about 10,000 and got to level 168. Oh well.

After playing all the different modes, i've pretty much either figured out how to beat them, or they are impossible to survive, OR are the infinite modes and i've reached a maximum extent where bait and firepower aren't enough to keep them from escaping because of their speed.

I've barely begun to explore all the variations and difficulty levels.
Graphics look great. I agree the background music could use a little more variety but it's not too intrusive.
Mostly i've not had stability problems, though once when i picked a particular resolution, the screen went black and didn't come back. I could hear sound but clicks and keys didn't have any effect. I had to restart the system.
3 things on my wish list:
-- Option of keeping open a small display of health of multiple orcs in addition to being able to click for details. (or perhaps an option to display a little number or % of their heads)
-- Ability to swing the view around as well as zooming in. (say option + mouse movement and scroll wheel perhaps?)
-- Choice of starting with different amounts of gold (my apologies if this is in some variations i haven't tried yet)
