I have just installed it and made a few proofs to see what happens.
Seeing the results, I remained without words. A really splendid plugin, very, very useful. Many thanks to the developer

Very impressive software. Much work went into developing this BorderFX and I am very surprised it is donationware. The developer could easily charge $20.00 for BorderFX.

Please be sure to donate if you use this BorderFX.

TO POTENTIAL USERS: I was looking for a program that did watermarks and noticed how most fared badly in regards to reviews. When I stumbled across this one, and saw everyone had given it 5 stars, I thought I had to check this out. I'm buying Aperture now, and I'm going to go to his website and make a PayPal donation.

TO THE DEVELOPER: I love this plug-in. Totally love it. The watermark feature is what attracted me and sold me on this. I don't own Aperture and am trying a demo out right now. I'm going to buy Aperture 3 now because I want to use BorderFX on a regular basis. I keep getting a message though, that your plug-in doesn't run in 64-bit mode, and Aperature will ask to restart in 32-bit mode so it can use your plug-in. Will you be making this in a 64-bit mode? I think you have to, because it's so darn great. I appreicate you putting this out there as freeware, but I'm going to go to your website and make a PayPal donation for your efforts because I think this is so good. You should also consider putting this up on the Apple App Store and charging something for it. But only after you have it running in a 64-bit mode, of course. Thanks for writing a great program.

I've been using this for a couple of weeks now, to watermark images I export from Aperture 3.1.1. It's an excellent plug-in that works superbly - and is very simple to use (though a few hover-over tool-tips would be helpful, as would a basic beginner's guide just to get started).

I don't have any interest in adding borders to pixs, so the name of the app could be misleading. But as a watermarking tool, it's rare, very versatile and definitely 5 star.

What are the advantages over the built in watermark feature of Aperture 3 on export?

...that's a good question Moogan - and I should have made the point in my review. Aperture 3 supports watermarking, but to do it you need something like Photoshop or Pixelmator. I don't have - or need - either of them. With BorderFX you don't need either of them.

Love this plug-in!
the developer is working on an Aperture 3 version now. (mid march 2010)

Lots of wonderful ways to use the watermark feature and beautiful styles for the borders.

I've added many different presets that I can apply to photographs of different color, tone and contrast.

Very very useful!!! Easy to use, quite flexible, and great results... I'm missing one feature though... it would be great it you could write vertically too, i.e. so that you're abe to write not only on the top and bottom border/edges of the image, but also on the left and write edges

This Aperture-plugin is getting very feature-complete and stable now. It's much better then te previous version and I'm using it all the time now. To good thing is that there are not just a number of pre-fabricated frames, but that you can get really creative using the different tools te create your own custom frames.

Awesome. This has been sooo needed. What would make it totally uber awesome is if it had basic FTP functionality.

As this is at the output stage one is still left with having to use say imagewell to upload. One could argue that as imagewell has boarder capability it could do the whole job.
