DVD Spanner... Do you have large folders full of files you would like to archive to DVD? The default Mac "Finder" interface to burning DVDs requires you to manually split the folder up into 4GB sections so you can burn it to separate disks.
DVD Spanner solves that problem. Just specify the directory of files, and optionally a name for the disks, and it will automatically span the archive across multiple disks.
DVD Spanner is freeware, meaning you don't need to pay for expensive alternatives. DVD Spanning software for the mac is now free!
Absolutely brilliant! In an ever increasing world of file sizes, this is the most perfect simple and elegant solution to a problem that shouldn't have existed in the first place (are you listening Apple?)
it took 3 attempts to download a complete dmg file and then the program itself wont work: "dvd spanner cannot be opened because of a problem......." hope the dev fixes it soon
Ok the 5th attempt at downloading yielded a 12.4 mb file which works!!!!
new gui = very nice
library window= shows you what files where burned from which harddrive
Link downloads version 0.02 which will not launch on Intel/SnowLeopard.
Developer's link also will download version 0.02. Version tracker, etc. all the same; 2007 dated .dmg with version 0.02.
I've tried this software on both an Intel and a PPC Mac, but on both machines the software automatically quits on startup and I never even get to see the graphic interface.. anyone got any ideas?
