Restart Spaces is a quick and easy work-around of some common Spaces issues. Restart Spaces simply quits and restarts the Dock (Spaces is part of the Dock application, it is also quit and restarted along with the Dock). Restart Spaces is a FreeWare AppleScript App for Mac OS X 10.5. I don't have an Intel Mac readily available to test, could someone verify if it works OK on Intel & add to the comments?

I you have the Terminal open all the time like I do, it is much easier to just type killall Dock whenever the Dock, Spaces, the Program Switcher, Exposé, and/or Dashboard (yes, these things are ALL part of the Dock) go bad on you. The problem it that it is often impossible to do anything when some of these things freeze. What is really needed is a keyboard shortcut to restart the Dock that will work even if, for example, you are stuck changing Spaces or in Exposé and you can't do anything with any window.

What are these "common" problems you talk about? I haven't seen any problems with Spaces that I would need to restart the dock for.

I'm really curious as to what others are seeing.
