Requires a restart? Are they joking? I don't even use any of the iLife apps...
Software Update tells me I have no updates available. What gives?
As was mentioned, it's available only via Software Update. You could choose to download it without installing if you desire, it's only 2.4 MB.
Here's the thing I find curious, to say the least, this support pack is supposedly for iLife '09, iWork '09 and Aperture, BUT, I don't have any of those, I still use iLife '06 and do not have any versions of iWork or Aperture. Why is this update showing up for my Leopard 10.5.8 MacBook Pro in software update?
According to Apple's web site the latest update is 9.0.3, so they have either pulled this or it was posted here in error.
This is only available via Software Update (Apple menu) as noted in the short description.
I am perfectly able to read that it is only available via Software Update, but not to me....
When I tried this link (just now), the download started for version 1.0.3, not 1.0.4.
I hope they make this update available for direct download. It's a lot more convenient (and easier on my limited bandwidth) when deploying to multiple systems. I also like to archive updates for the time that I hope will never come. ;-)
Apple presumes you have unlimited free or cheap highspeed broadband, permanently connected.
It is typical of the self centred "everyone is like me, or should be" personalities at Apple.
