As to the "price too low to display" issue, I really can't do much because Amazon is not showing those prices.

Here's the situation: the program uses a free amazon web service to grab the item information (which is very light-weighted), not by crawling the actual amazon website (that will be too costly for web traffic). I can definitely hack my code to crawl the item page to grab the price when the webservice returns "price too low to display". But it will very likely jam your network and amazon also will hunt me down. I will continue to look for better options but for now it can only be what it is. Sorry. Thankfully I think such "price too low to display" case does not occur often.

Of course, some applications require dependent files to be installed as well (sometimes in the Application Support folder in OS X) but if an app does not require dependent files to be installed in various places in OS X, then people much rather drag and drop a given application into the Applications folder.
Hope I am stating this clearly...
