A sorely needed application which OSX lacks.
hth,
tim
I miss SoundApp on OS X. I haven't seen anything come close to supporting so many different file formats. And SoundApp is much less demanding of CPU power than iTunes for MP3 playback. Those hoping to keep slower PPC hardware useful for as long as possible will especially appreciate the difference.
Knowing that there haven't been any updates in a very long time and guessing that an OS X version written to the high quality standards we've seen from this developer would take close to a total re-write, I don't expect to see it happen. Even though I don't use this app as often as I once did, I still appreciate it and will always have fond memories of using it. Although iTunes has pretty well replaced it for general music handling, it's support for file conversions should still be quite usable under Classic. I'm not sure if this could be made into a Carbon app, perhaps the developer might consider making this open source and allowing others to use it as a basis for new development. The author certainly has given much time over the years with this app. Thank you!

I had an .m1a file that just iTunes just couldn't covert to a usable .aif or .wav file, and I wasn't about to purchase another program when I wasn't even sure the new program could do the job.
Then lo and behold, I found SoundApp and it was able to convert my file properly and for such an amenable price (i.e. free!).
