It worked briefly after I had installed the latest SE upgrade and having double checked that everything else was up to date. Now it's back to reporting an error and will not connect.
I see that Sony Ericsson has pulled the plugin from the web site with no explanation, just a blank space on the page where the download used to be.

Please make sure that your phone is turned on. If this error occurs again, please restart your phone.

At last!!! I've been waiting for this ever since I got my P990i. Means I wont have to load XP via Parallels just to sync my phone.
Unfortunately I can only sync Calendars. When I try to sync Contacts I get the error message;
"[P990i] Connection to the phone failed.
Please make sure that your phone is turned on. If this error occurs again, please restart your phone.
Device "P990i" synchronization failed"
I have tried deleting and re-pairing the Mac to the phone, restarted the phone and I've checked that all software and the phone are up to date. The only other thing I can think of trying is to do a Master Reset on the phone but since it's a bit of a time consuming process to re-install all my third party applications I'll put this off until I learn if there is a quick fix.
Thanks to Sony Ericcson for making this available, it will make my phone much more usable once it's working correctly.
