A pretty decent game. I have only played the demo, but it seemed adequate to get a flavor for the game. Graphics and production quality are high and the intricate art nouveau style is quite pretty. Puzzles and playability are certainly on the easy side so it does seem intended for a young pre-adolescent audience. Personally, I find the game to be a bit patronizing; even though the protaganist is a woman it seems like she is just following some cryptic game of her husband and not intrepid at all. This doesn't make the game unplayable, but that angle may have made Dream Chronicles more inspiring for its audience.
This game is obviously aimed at a young female audience and as such it's right on the money. It does a very nice job of avoiding the hunt-shoot-kill-blood type of format that puts many girls off games. It has attractive graphics, fun and simple but not simple-minded puzzles, soothing music, and a story line that will appeal to its audience.
A product, any product, should be evaluated according to its intended audience; not by blind personal biases.
If you're an inmate at a state mental institution, on a locked ward, and shot up with a high dose of haloperidol, you might get into this game.
But if you're not, it likely will make you feel that you're in a time warp, trapped in a revolving door.
It's very slow moving, sickeningly sweet and "precious", and has a story line guarantied to appeal to the brain dead.
The game's trial period is 30 minutes, which is much too long.
Uh, Nurse Ratched.....Nurse Ratched....is it time for my lobotomy, yet?
