Wo ist der Eismann? (Where is the Icecream Man?) — Eis-Wagner is a very popular icecream truck in Ilmenau, Germany.

His movements are observed by a GPS receiver and transmitted to www.wo-ist-der-eismann.de (in German).

You can find out whrere he is in real-time with this widget that uses the web page for displaying the current position on a Google Map within the widget.

Ignore the grousing. It has limited appeal, so what? I cannot use it since I'm in England, but I can still appreciate and thank the developer for producing it.
The idea is an absolute delight!

This is really quite funny since you exactly know where to go for an ice cream.
But its also true that there is no use out of ths town, so why not releasing the sourcecode here and some instructions to build its own location widgets?

Um, why would give a rat's ass where the Wagner ice cream truck is....in Limenau no less.
If I'm Jonesin' for an ice cream fix, I'll just trot on down to my local grocer's for some Ben and Jerry's.....
hmmmm, I could go for nice big dish of "Cherry Garcia" right about now!

Ilmenau is a small town in Thuringia and has a technical university, focussed on media. So there may be some more than 2 mac users out there starving for ice cream. But that´s not the point. It´s fun. It´s great. Wish I had a Wagner Ice Truck plus widget for my town, too.
