What's New

Version 2.3:

added the ability to manually add stations
tracker can now be changed by the user
mplayer cache can be set by user
Dock icon can now display album art, channel logo if user wants.
stream information can now be seen along with coping of the stream url which can be used in many different ways. (ie pasting url into another application)
time on player was removed and replaced with stream bitrate.
Canada issues should be resolved

This used to be a pretty good program. Recently however, there seems to
be no support, nor any functioning version of the software around. Does
anyone have an older version of Siriusmac? Something like 2.1 or 2.2?
I can't believe I never backed up those pesky disc images.

This application worked for me the first time I installed it. In fact it works fine on my other macbook. Using version 2.3 it no longer works on my macbook pro. There is always some applescript error. It went from a 4 to a 1 for me. The forum doesn't allow registrations as I'm sure the developer couldn't keep up with the complaint level. Its time someone else take the reigns and create a new one.

Five stars???? For what exactly? Spent 15 minutes and can't get app to do a damn thing. Only asked for 'captcha' code on first launch. Subsequently get 'login successful' and 'requesting' screen messages.... Then nothing......zzzzzzzzzz...... No 'Help' whatsoever within the app.... No hover bubbles.... No documentation of any kind... 'BaseImage Not Defined' error on almost every click... Phooey.

Doesn't work... I just get a "AppleScript Error" (-2753) and there is no way to contact the developer... Too bad it seems pretty cool... it logs me in but gives me the script error...

Love this thing. Been waiting on an update since my old one quit tracking song info. Always makes working on the computer more enjoyable.

P.S. - click on the Favorites location button and hold for about five seconds to set as favorites.

They tried to get way too clever with the interface. It's not intuitive at all, I've messed with this thing 10 minutes and I still can't figure out how to add favorites.

I want this application to listen to Sirius Radio, not be dazzled by how it looks like a 3rd rate MP3 Player.

The favorites are set just by holding the button in for like 3 secs. (like a real radio)

Cool idea, but my main motivation for downloading this was to get around the login process where I had to enter a verification code. I doubt there's ever gonna be a workaround for that -- but if there ever could be that would be great.

You only have to enter your username, password, and captcha image one time on the first boot. After that you dont have to.

Love the new design model, and all the new features, this program is much easier to install. Keep up the good work I look forward to the updates with all the features becoming functional. A must have for a Sirius subscriber with a mac

i despise growl. it should not be needed.

the player interface needs to be MUCH LESS involved. please just use standard mac os x interface. look at a program like transmission for an example of simplicity.

on top of that, in version 2.0 the player won't stop even after quitting SiriusMac. i had to use Activity Monitor app to quit the 'mplayer' activity.

You don't have to install or use growl, so I don't understand the point of your comment. If you don't like Growl, don't install it and programs that use it do nothing with it.

I, on the other hand, love Growl.

This is awesome. I use Safari and Firefox for my browsers. Until now i have been unable to see what is playing while connected to Sirius online. Now i can see what song is playing s well as save presets. I love this thing. Thank you so much!

I'm using Siriusmac 2.3. Recently I started receiving the following Apple Script Error Message: "Can't make characters 1 thru 6 of "" into type string. (-1700)".

This occurs when I try and select a station from the drop down list. I have already solved the previous Applescript error that seems to be the topic of much discussion on this page.

Any help or insight would be greatly appreciated.

Hey did you resolve this? I've been using Sirius for Mac for about a year now, and it's always been perfect. Now I get this! The same exact thing your getting. I haven't been able to call Sirius to see if they can help b/c of my 9-5 schedule.

It started like 2 weeks ago. I haven't been able to find any mention of this, except for your post. Could you drop me a line if you resolve this? I will do the same for you :) I'm a week or two away from canceling my subscription if I can't fix this.

The fix is to download the new Sirius XM player Pulsar which replaces your SiriusMac 2.

Copy and paste this url: http://www.apple.com/downloads/macosx/audio/pulsar.html for Pulsar download and spec information.

Apparently this is the new application "they" want us listening through. Great communication on the update guys.

I would have posted this on their forum.... but forum registrations are disabled (wtf????).

anyways, anyone with the baseImage is not defined error, go to the preferences menu, click on the "Player" tab, then change the option for "Dock Icon" to "No change", then restart siriusmac.

seems that their applescript file has an error, i tried to look into it myself to fix, but it is a run only binary file.

and to the people at siriusmac, if i could have registered at the forum, i could have posted this there, instead of on macupdate, and possibly helped fix the issue myself (im a developer).

Finally login worked - but I had to use my Canadian subscription data with US as selected country to get it work. A lot of tries to get the "solution"...

I can see channels, I can see songs played... but I have no audio at all.

The growl thing was an accident I thought I had it coded to check and see if it was installed but I guess not. It will be fixed in the next release.

This is a different application from original SiriusMac.

With the original (version 1.x) I am able to use it without Growl - this one won't even let me to Preferences without having Growl installed.... Grrrrrr

SiriusMac 1.1 doesn't think that Mac Python 2.5.1 isn't installed, but it is. The message says:

File Tiger:usr:local:bin:phython wasn't found.

Well, /usr/local/bin/phython certainly does exist, although /usr/local is a symlink to somewhere else in my filesystem.

It does work is python itself is a symlink (i.e., python -> python2.5), but not if there's a symlink in the path to python.

Is there a way to support symlinks in the path?

At this time, Symlinks within the path to python except for the python symlink is supported.

This is a non-standard install. I tested 6 machines and none of them have /usr/local as a Symlink. Why is /usr/local on your system a Symlink? Can you please explain?
