Didn't work for me either. Try Jaksta for Mac (http://jaksta.com) instead.

it absolutely works - but the 'download' button is almost invisible (located at the bottom right of the window)

App doesn't work AT ALL. It's a glorified stand alone YouTube video player. I've tried multiple versions from the developer's site on multiple Macs all with the same results, nothing is downloaded. Not sure if something changed with the Mac OS that breaks it, but as of now this software is worthless.

Has anyone figured out what is the problem with Get Tube and why the video's have stopped downloading....this is for both the 4.51 version and the earlier 4.01 version I went back to try and correct the problem?

Folks have any reliable alternatives to Get Tube?

If like me you were experiencing empty mp3/mp4 downloads from version 4.51 then go to the developers website and download 4.01. It works fine !

4.01 works.Get it at the Developer's site. It showed a window that encoded the movie adter it was downloaded which this version didn't. That is why this version didn't work as it was left in FLV form and Quicktime couldn't open it!

Thank you for the helpful tip! iCab works great!!! Here is how to do it for everyone who needs help. Make sure you have the latest version of iCab! Then in iCab put THIS in your address bar http://icab.de/filtermanager.html This will d/l the the filter in zipped form to wherever you have designated your downloads to be. Then unzip it and click on it. A message will come up and say do you want it in your filter manager. Say yes. In TOOLS you will see the filter manager. Make sure the filter is enabled which it is usually by default.Then when you go to a You Tube page a banner will ask you if you want to d/l in MP$ or whatever you wish. It works GREAT! This puts iCab in the forefront of web browsers. This feature is GREAT!

There are 5 votes for iCab. Can someone tell me how iCab converts FLV files to MP4? I can't nderstand why 5 people voted for this.

I believe the newest version of iCab has a feature known as "filters." Evidently, one of these filters is a YouTube download filter. It seems you simply activate the filter to use it. From what I read, it works well. No experience here yet, but I'm going to check it out.

It Did NOT work! I checked MP4 in my preferences and it downloaded the movie and apparently converted it to MP4 but the movie coud not be opened by Quicktime or Mplayer extended or VLC. This was a waste of time.

The message from Quicktime is "the movie can not be opened because it is not a movie file"

I used to love using Get Tube for all of my mp3 and mp4 needs from youtube. so simple. you could do everything all in one application. there was no need to convert it on another website. what happened?

Same issue here. Tried old versions too. Not happening. Solid blue line... then nothing. Hopefully there will be an update soon.

I got Get tube and it was working really well, now all of a sudden it's stopped and when i try to download something it just has a full bar and doesn't do anything else and so then i have to force quit get tube, I've tried every version and none have worked any better! I need help!!

I haven't used Get Tube in a while, but I had previously only used it to download the audio files from videos. I tried to download a video and it won't actually download anything. I downloaded the 4.0 update, but every time I do, it tells me there's an update to download (whether I open from disk image or after replacing the old file). MacUpdate says the version is 4.0 but when I try to go to the developer's site it indicates that it's only version 3.0. My version comes up as 3.0.2, and I hadn't had any trouble with it before.

I have no idea why it's not doing what I want it to, but if someone could point out something I can do to fix it, please do so.

I have downloader GET TUBE at least 5 different times and each time it doesn't work. Once I transfer GET TUBE into my applications I try to open it and nothing happens. I also trying to put GET TUBE in my dock. Once I click on it to open it it bounces 2 or 3 times and then NOTHING happens .. I really want this app can you PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE help me !?

Im having trouble with the new version of GetTube. When I click on my web browser (firefox) and then go onto youtube, click on a video, then I click on the GetTube and click on the firefox icon but then it just says 'no video or connection displayed' I dont know what that means because ive tried everything to get it work but it wont work!

Any sugestions?!

Hi, this version doesn't work when I try to download a movie that contais quotes in the title. The download screen stays with no progress.
