maileR is a small application for people who don't use Mail.app.
So they can use Webmail just like a small and very fast application. Nothing more but nothing less. maileR works with all webmail services
If you have a browser already (particularly a "light" one), I'm not sure what the point of this application is - because that's all it does. It's a light browser that happens to support all forms of webmail - just like FireFox does in my experience. If I'm wrong please let me know - I'd hate to be knocking a good and useful application.
I have written this 'app' for a friend - she does not use Mail and hated it to always open Safari or to open a new window in Safari just to read her new mails - so maileR always opens with her mails and she can browse with Safari - I don't know why - but it seems that many people use this 'small browser' for their mails - I use it to open the wp-site with the latest comments on my blog :-))
Do not use this software with your gmail account! My account has been disabled for 24 hours due to using with "third party application", not known for Google.
Unfortunately, gmail support is poor - only basic html view is not so good option for mail-specific application. Thrrrash.
Using of maileR does not disable your account. The Problem with the functions of Gmail is, that Gmail does not recognize maileR as a supported browser - maileR itself could handle all functions - I am still waiting to a responce from Google to fix this :-)
Nice idea. However for total compatibility it should have been perhaps based on Firefox instead of the Safari Engine.
Doesn't work at all with certain webmail sites such as GMX (www.gmx.com). Whatever webmail sites Safari has problems with (and there are a few), MaileR will also.
But, unfortunately for users, trying to use your software (great idea!) is technically pray for blocking and alerts from Google. I'll check this with another, not so important for me account, and gmaileR block again my account. As I see, forst problem is "supported browser" for Gmail scripts, and second - bigger - probably some error with "talking" gmaileR to gmail account. Second this has effect "Alert from Google". Not so usefull..
I'll cross the fingers for your work. Thanks for response :)
