FacebookSync used to sync your Apple Address Book with data from your Facebook account. Specifically, it pulled down your friends' names, emails, AIM, mobile phone number, and photo. It added missing photos, inserted missing information, and added missing records to your Apple AddressBook. This was great if you use iChat or Bluetooth-sync your AddressBook with your cellphone. Now it is a mere shadow of its once greatness due to Facebook's draconian Terms of Use.

Updated to latest version of MKAbeFook to allow FacebookSync to keep working

Anyone got an update on this? I'd love to actually have email addresses for my contacts, and am too lazy to do it by hand!

Suppose one's got a working older copy of an app with htis name. Suppose one doesn't check MacUpdate (or similar) that often. More precisely, would one miss in terms of syncing if that one would suddenly check MacUpdate and download the new release?

It's unlikely that the developer will be able to fix it until 10.5 is actually released, and unless you are authorized to be running 10.5, you shouldn't be. Probably going to mess up your system anyway.

Hehe, just the stuff you can get from Facebok platform. Like it corrects names in your address book (adding middle names/suffixes/prefixes), adds addresses, and adds photos. Oh, and birthdays. But that's... pretty much it. :-(

Much better! No crashes and seems to work flawlessly. I noticed one thing, when you want to quit the program it says quit newapplication? Must have missed that one. I was thinking it would be great if you didn't have the loggin window at all or maybe just when you lauch it for the first time. After that it's part of the preferences so you don't have to login in manually each time. Just an idea.

Free_Development had trouble on 11 Jan 2009

The app loads up fine, but for 99% of the contacts, nothing gets downloaded from Facebook. I know the names work because I have used AddressBookSync with it to load all the photos earlier. Please help, I am running the latest 10.5.6 OS

anyone experiencing an immediate crash after the login screen? i have been experiencing the same problem with the older versions, anyone got over 800 friends, i think that is the problem, can't pull the data without crashing ?! cheers

No longer seems to find any updated facebook people. I have people who have added me etc but the sync program doesnt register anyone (it worked fine the first time)

If you check "always update updated" people will no longer show up in your update list, but they will always be updated in your addressbook.

If i dont tick it then they should show up in the list? because it isnt ticked at the moment, will give it a try with it ticked to see if that works now....

Nope the bar still takes a minute to work across the bottom of the window but the list stays blank (both ways) and then you click on ok and it gives you the message to close and reopen addressbook but there are no new updates :(

Yep got the same problem here, its actually updated a couple of peoples photos in address book but not added new people or anything else.
