Does this not work in iPhoto 8? The built-in exporter doesn't really work the way I'd like.

Yes, it works. Go to "Export", and not to share. Took me a few moments to find it also.

For anyone still using iPhoto 5, 6, or 7 (only 8 supports Facebook exporting)?

Strange but true: Not everyone is running the latest versions of every app -- probably because they don't visit MacUpdate like you do! :)

Also because iPhoto's built in facebook syncing stuff totally blows. It doesn't handle captions correctly and it's very challenging to get it to properly link the "faces" it knows/you added to other facebook users profiles correctly. This plugin works a lot better for those reasons.

Even in iPhoto 9.1.2, the built in FaceBook exporting doesn't work right. It says a photo is exported, but it never shows up. The faceBook plugin is better, and also lets you tag and name the photos, which the built in export feature does not.

Essential if you're a frequent Facebook user.

Thanks -- great plug-in.

The author should update http://www.apple.com/downloads/ as they are still pushing the 1.0.1 version out the door and although it installed without a hitch Facebook never showed up as an export option.

At least that was my experience with the one at Apple downloads. I'm running Mac OS X 10.5.7 and iPhoto 7.1.5 (738).

v1.0.4 has fixed my problems. Can upload multiple images, with tags.

Crashes when loading. Real shame - used to be so good.

Not working for me in Leopard at all. Keeps telling me there was a connection error, no matter how often I log in and confirm the iPhoto use on facebook.com :(

I used to love this, please fix it!! Thanks :)

Same problem here, in iPhoto '08/Leopard - only one pic uploads at a time. Also tagging doesn't work - tags aren't carried forward to Facebook.

there is apparently a 1.04 version but it hasn't been updated here:

http://developers.facebook.com/iphoto/

have not tried it yet.

Sounds like a good idea but it would be EVEN BETTER if it could export from aperature

Great plugin. No problems. Much more convenient than uploading via the standard Facebook uploader.

Prefpane had trouble on 24 Nov 2009
Since I upgraded to a 12 mpix camera with a 16:9 option, images from this camera and especially in 16:9, shows up to be verry blurry och pixelated/grainy when UL'ed via this plugin. When manually exported and UL'ed to FB - they look fine. =) They actually looks like crap from the plugin. Is there a problem to process higher resolution pictures OR wider images than with the original formats? Maybe the developer can make some changes for the future version to get rid of these problems? =)

Regards, Fredrik

Plug in is non-functional. It uploads one picture then errors out. So you can do one picture at a time, but what's the use of that?

Is this Leopard ready? It was working fine before I upgraded but now I cannot export from iPhoto at all, not just to Facebook.

Having this plugin installed blocks the Export feature of the new version of iPhoto (7.0.1). I had to go /Applications/iPhoto/Contents/Plugins (or whatever the path is, can't quite remember now) to remove it manually and restore functionality.

Pity, because I find it really useful.
