iPhoto2Gmail is an iPhoto plugin that lets you quickly and easily send pictures using your gmail account... all without installing or configuring an e-mail application.
What's New
Version 1.1:
iPhoto2Gmail now preserves EXIF and ColorSync data when resizing photos
Users can choose Bcc or Cc when sending to multiple recipients
The plugin now remembers the last used resizing and sending options
Requirements
PPC / Intel, Mac OS X 10.4 or later, iPhoto 5 or later.
Sometimes, for reasons still unknown to me, the Installer check for iPhoto versions fails. If you'd like, you can email me and I can explain how to manually install the plugin.
I wait a long time for this little plugin. On work we used windows with picasa to manage some pictures and from this app it's so easy to send mails over gmail... And now we can do this with iPhoto. Thanks...
Excellent. I've longed for an app like this. Its always been a bit of a pain to export the photo to the desktop then go to your email and attach it. This app is so much quicker.
Brilliant
Unable to get iPhoto2Gmail to send successfully. It tells me that iPhoto image was sent successfully even though Intended recipient did not receive image..
I was a bit hasty in assuming non receipt of sent photo. About twenty minutes to a half hour after sending it, photo was received. Tried sending a few more, they, too, were received about20- 30 minutes later
So, iPhoto2Gmail seems to work just fine even though there's a lag of 20-30 minutes( at least there is for me) between sending and receiving,
A few minutes after I send my mail and attachment I get a message saying, "Successful! Your mail has been sent." Then, 20 minutes later I get the following message: "Alert. Message not sent. Unknown error."
This happens every time I use the new version 1.0...but in fact the message HAS been sent. It's just annoying, but makes me wonder if my mail is getting there.
You most likely have an older version residing within iPhoto. You have to use the Show Package Contents of iPhoto: iPhoto/Contents/Plugins
In the Plugins folder is where it can be found. Also, you may have other older add on plugins, by others that are causing the Export dialogue window not to open.
Sorry to hear about the difficulties you are having. When I released versions 0.7 and 0.7.1 some file permissions were not correct in the plugin package.
As of 11:11pm, CST Sept 20th, 2007, the installer has been updated and should take care of the export dialog not showing up.
