While it could use some improvement in terms of performance, along with a bit of UI love...I find Fireworks to be an incredible app and when it comes to web design, to this day, there simply is no application that can match it in terms of features and overall workflow. I switched from doing websites in Photoshop to doing them in Fireworks and I can't imagine doing it otherwise now.

Did you have crashing problems before the update or do the update cause the crashing? If the current version isn't stable maybe (10.0.4) maybe I'll stick with the previous version.

WOW, they fix CS4 bugs AFTER releasing CS5. I abandoned Fireworks after upgrading to CS4 and Snow Leopard, since it was so buggy. I'll update FW and put it through it's paces, but Adobe lost me as a Fireworks user when they didn't address stability issues -- I have to be able to rely on software. Instead, I've reverted to old school -- Illustrator + Photoshop -- as both apps are always well supported by Adobe.

Maybe they read the comments in their own blogs and on pages like MU. It does not help Adobe in the long term, if they just try to make more money.

Sad piece of software from a deeply sad company. I wouldn't consider it an alpha release, but apparently adobe only cares about your money, so instead of trying to bring this to a beta stage (with some bug fixes), they repack it in the CS5 version and try to sell it to you again, same old garbage.

It crashes continuously on my Snow Leopard so I had to look around for alternatives and I've recently found a little gem called DrawIt from Bohemian Coding, it costs close to nothing and it is growing to become a valid alternative to fireworks.

I really hope Adobe continues to go forward with their (flash only focused) business strategy of a second (or even) third class software company (or should I say marketing) to see them out of business soon.

Ps. I still remember when macromedia was innovating web design.

The way it behaves now I would not even look at it if it were a $50 shareware. This is how pathetic it is at this point. I cannot believe Adobe is doing this to its Mac customers. That should s'go directly to court. The only good thing I use it for at this point is for crunching jpg's.

This thing has been bugging.. Adobe.. it's Time to wake Up !!!!!!! It was lagging with even the smallest of files in Leopard and worse in Snow... W A K E U P !!!!!

I tire of Fireworks CS4 lack of innovation, quirks, and bugs present with Snow Leopard. Has anyone found a better alternative yet?
