No contact or word from Cocoamug Software in over a year. What's up with them? Use to love their products. No excuse for no contact of any kind.

I miss my Cosmopod in a big way, sadly they don't answer my emails. So either the developer is dead or had a personal meltdown of sorts...

I was in the same boat and luckily came upon iTubeX. It is much more capable than CosmoPod and has none of the annoyances. Downloads videos from places CosmoPod could not. Lets me select from a list of resolutions, extract audio etc. I'll never look back.

This app destroyed my Safari browser. It somehow deleted my entire Toolbar, so I can't even hit Command-L to open web sites anymore. I followed the developer's uninstall instructions, but even then my Safari Toolbar did not come back.

Beware this software -- it will actually harm your computer! The developers are extremely irresponsible to even be distributing it in its current state.

From the Developer's website:

Important note about CosmoPod and Safari 5.1

The current version of CosmoPod is not compatible with the latest Safari 5.1. We are working on a fix and we will provide a free upgrade when it's ready. Thanks for your patience.

To uninstall CosmoPod, you can delete the following folder (quit Safari first) : /Library/Application Support/SIMBL/Plugins/CosmoPod.bundle.

It's not as simple as that. Cosmopod completely deletes your Safari Toolbar!!! Even if you follow these uninstall instructions, your Toolbar does not come back. This software is dangerous and should be avoided at all costs. It will destroy your Safari web browser.

@Arobulack, you give no specifics of what OS or Safari versions you are using. But, more important you need to take this up directly with the developer. I simply posted what I found at their website. Be cognizant that talks are continuing in the Apple Support Community forums that users' are incorrectly blaming specific software--be it third-party or Apple's--for issues, when in reality there might many factors at play causing said issues and not just one.

CocoaMug Software has cut it's throat! I encourage all of you who have paid for this (formerly) great Safari Add-on to spread the news to EVERYONE you possibly can to steer clear of any offering form CocoaMug. For them to completely ignore their paying customers is untenable. Therefore they should only reap what they themselves have sown!

Developer, you're really starting to piss off your paying user base, including me. If the updating or personal problems you're facing are too great to overcome, or if you do expect to overcome them but just need more time, stop being purposely negligent and at least TELL US — WE HAVE A RIGHT TO KNOW WHETHER WE SHOULD CONTINUE WAITING FOR A FUNCTIONAL UPDATE OR FIND A REPLACEMENT.

Dear developers,
A little black humor never killed anyone _ It's just that it's on us. While it lasted it was a great little app. I decided after all this time to let it RIP.
Now here's my humorous suggestion_ leave your pride behind & update your developer skills than work on the app not the other way around.

Unfortunately, CosmoPod is not compatible with Lion.
Since it's not updated for over a year, it looks like it is abandoned.
That's a shame, because it was (is) the best of it's kind IMO.
No sign of a possible new version on the devs web site.

So Safari 5.1 is the culprit. I could not tell since the problem occurred after installing Lion (which also installed Safari 5.1).
Glad to hear a fix is coming.

I have looked at the custom toolbar many times. It is not there and it is not in the Window menu either. Strangely enough if I install once again, it indicates it is going to update, so it must be in there somewhere, but a search of my computer does not find it.

Here is what I have done to try to fix it.
1. Repaired permissions.
2. Run TechTool Pro.
3. Run Disk Warrior.
4. Emptied caches.
5. Started in Safe Boot and installed from there.

Nothing has worked. I think I will ask for my money back.

Remove /Library/InputManagers/CosmoPod, and Safari 5.0 works fine.

link to a fixed version that works better with 10.4.11. Now Cosmopod recognizes all the
sites it always has in the past. But, I crash alot ever since I installed it. Just waiting for a posted update.
