Integrity is an app for webmasters that checks the links and images on your site. Feed Integrity your homepage URL and it will follow internal links to find all of your pages, checking each link and reporting the server response code for each. Information can be exported in a number of formats including an XML sitemap suitable for submission to Google via webmaster tools.

What's New

Version 3.7.3:

Links to subdomains can be considered as internal rather than external. ie peacockmedia.co.uk and www.peacockmedia.co.uk are considered the same site (which is not necessarily true but most people would expect) and therefore both are followed. Adds checkbox in global preferences to switch this option. Default is on. With the option on, Integrity will discover more links (and potentially more bad links) on certain websites. Option needs to be switched off if you wish to deliberately limit your crawl to one subdomain
Fixes memory problem, helping application to deal with larger sites
Bug fix and small improvement to 'my sites' drawer
Closing main window quits application after 'are you sure' dialogue

From my survey of and blog post on link checkers:

"Integrity is a basic link checker..[a]s I began reviewing link checkers, certain features became important to me; [Integrity allows] the user to set per-site delays to the scanner, so as not to overload the server, and have the ability to pause a scan and optionally scan for missing images.

"However, Integrity has some bugs in the area of saving profiles (sites and their settings). Also, [it suffers] from a bug that makes the scanner treat URLs with 'www.' in them as a different site than those without the subdomain. The developer has indicated that this will be fixed in a later version."

Hi Don, thanks for the review. Note that the subdomain issue is dealt with in 3.7.3 with a checkbox in global prefs to switch the feature on or off.

Yayyy, great work for finally supporting OSX 10.4.11 Tiger again, Sheila! Thought you'd forgotten us forever and cleared off with the Leopard and his pal, Snow Leopard.

Unfortunately, it may work great in Lion but crashes on Launch in Leopard.

I've spotted an error in my build settings which would explain the problem on 10.5. I'm looking at it now but in the mean time, you can obtain the previous version (non-10.7 but good on 10.5 and 10.6) at http://peacockmedia.co.uk/integrity/integrity36.dmg

Thanks for posting that link Negritude - I'll make sure that version stays available. I apologise to 10.4 users, it's a complicated story but I wouldn't have chosen to go to min 10.5. Absolutely terrific Link Tester. In the old OS9 days I used to use VSE Link Tester, but this is so much better a decade on. A++

I have tried to test a site that includes Gallery2. Integrity apparently tries to follow the links generated by Gallery and gets into a loop, not to mention throwing link errors that start with "gallery.php?...". I finally have to stop it when the link count gets in the thousands and the above link errors keep going up in count.

However, if I try to exclude links containing "gallery", or "gallery.php", or tell Integrity not to follow those links, Integrity stops checking the site after 64 links. I have LOTS more that 64 links in the site that don't contain the string "gallery".

I tried to access Support or Contact Us on the Integrity site and both gave me a blank page. (MacOS X, Firefox 3.0.12)

Unfortunately new 3.02 didn't resolved the issue for me.
When I tried to email - Sheila at peacockmedia.co.uk I got "The server response was: 5.1.1 unknown or illegal alias: peacockmedia.co.uk".

For my email address, replace the word 'at' with the usual 'at' symbol (or go to peacockmedia.co.uk and click the email link on the 'contact us' page) and all should be well (I typed the word 'at' because I wasn't sure whether this site showed email addresses).

Either spelling of shiela should work.

Once I have your email address I'll email you the dmg file as an attachment.

I have Mac OS X Version 10.4.11
When I tried to download Integrity 3.01 - the process didn't go further "Preparing the disk image" and after awhile it stopped- "Mounted failed".
Need help. Thank you

Version 1.2 still crashes 5 seconds into link checking on a G5 PPC 2.3GHz dual, running OSX 10.4.9.

Your persistence with an app that continues to crash on you is admirable. In this case, (noting your username and history of comments on other apps) makes me suspect a clash with something else you're running, which is a very difficult problem to get to the bottom of, but once again, if you have problems then please, please send the address of the site that you were trying to test to my support page.

Since you are the only one having problems it seems that your machine or another app is causing it. Please don't blame the developer for that.
