I have no idea why MacProgram is listed as an alternative here since it isn't even the same type progam. TED turned out to be a bust. I ran it neck and neck against TVShows and Vuze, and it came in last, never actually finding a file to download after a lot of custom search strings were added. TED didn't do much better, and after 3 hours hadn't even gotten 50% of a half hour show. Vuze had the HD version in 16 minutes. Case closed.

I almost had my broadband connection cancelled because I was using TVShows to download episodes of Monk. Be very very careful downloading television episodes. Like I said, I was just downloading Monk episodes and I almost lost my cable internet forever. They told me if I did it one more time that I would be banned for life.

That's why I use Vuze running only encrypted connections. Most of these other automated things are wide open for bit snooping.

RELEASE NOTES:
"03 02 10 - 23:34
Today we released a new mandatory version of ted.
We had to do this emergency release as SourceForge asked us kindly to remove functionality we currently perform on their website. This new release is basically just version 0.971 with the functionality which was done on SourceForge now done within ted.

This is really a short time fix and we hope to release a new version with new features in the upcoming weeks."

TVShows is still a better program. TED used to be my choice, but TVShows is MUCH more reliable. The latest version of TED still does not match TVShows.

Sitting-In-The-Sun had trouble on 10 May 2011

I am having problem with this, put it on a few weeks ago after the demise of tvshows.

so far it has failed to download single show correctly, either it fails to find show (which I can find manually ) or the downloaded file is a fake.
