PRO: It made a 30 min (600mb) file viewable in VLC in about 5 minutes. Makes a complex orocess, for me anyway, simple (I don't know how to CD into a directory in Terminal)
CON: No progress information.Seems like it took ver my Mac completely.

It will convert video files for you to DVD compatible format MPG.

Also, to get to your Tivo through a web browser, you'll need to login with "tivo" as your username and the 10-digit Media Access Key (MAK) as your password.
You need the MAK to use the Decoder anyway--poke around your Tivo's menus and you'll find it.
(If you're not a Safari fan, you can also find your Tivo's IP address and type that into your browser address window -- remember to use https:// though.)

anyone have an idea of how we can begin to archive these as viewable files (like a dvd).
