Mac mini EFI Firmware Update fixes several issues to improve the stability of Mac mini (Mid 2011) computers and is recommended for all users.

This update improves the reliability of booting from the network, addresses an issue that can prevent HDCP authentication after a reboot, and resolves an issue with boot device selection when a USB storage device is hot-plugged.

Downloaded it, and it said it would not perform the update because my hard drive was not formatted in an acceptable format. Do I REALLY need to reformat my hard drive so I can install this? What a PITA.

FWIW, it says this is new...

It now runs on localized systems that use languages that read right to left.

I can't find anything that explains what this update is for. I'm guessing it has to do with Boot Camp. Does anybody have more info?

yes you need to install it before using Boot Camp
