FWIW what this appdoes is to put a dot as the first character of the 'hidden' object's name.

If said object is aliased in the well at the lower left of finder windows, it remains there, with a dot at the beginning of its name.

This little widget is great, simple / easy to use. If this software comes with password protection, i would give this a 5 stars.
