Closed down September 14 2018. A pity as Autopano seemed to be perhaps the best non-Adobe solution. Affinity Photo's Panorama stitcher is quite limited (only equilinear). Kolor is Closing After 14 years of creating world-class image stitching software and products that drove advancement in the world of immersive media, Kolor will be closing. What does this mean? As of September 14, 2018, Kolor products will no longer be for sale from Kolor.com. For existing users, you will be able to use your account login to retrieve your license keys and activate your software. The download links are still available. Existing Kolor products will no longer be updated.

Incredibly efficient while still simple to use. Indeed, some months ago I spent quite a time trying everything around, but within a lower price range: I converged to PanoEdit and bought it in spite of its lock to apple store. Then, I pushed it with less-than-perfect series of photos (among which various taken handheld, with different focals…) and of course it failed, also creating ghosts in difficult cases (say, a beach, waves not being at the same places between two shots). Then I gave AutoPano a try, on the demo version. Everything worked perfectly, including in these old cases where you won't ever go back to that location and hadn't the tripod and failed it all. Autopano is a lifesaver, and I must say some of its extra features ("little planet" views…) are very worth too. So yes it's costly, and indeed in the beginning I myself thought with so many contenders five times cheaper there was just no reason even to try it. Well. Try it by yourself, you'll see. To me, a lifesaver. And fun to use with that.

One of the greatest most slept on apps out there. One of the greatest because this developer produces hands down the best professional yet uncomplicated panoramic software there is on any platform. One of the most slept on because version 3 has been out for some time now, yet even Macupdate doesn’t seem to be anywhere being aware of this. It really bemuses me how most people don’t even know this software exists. Honestly, if you have any interest in developing pictures, you’re missing out by not having this and I say this as someone who has version 2 and is eagerly downloading version 3 from the developer’s website.

Probably the best professional panorama maker. And an affordable price who needs to do this kind of work. Easy to use and powerful.

If you're looking for the best most powerful stitching software on any platform, this is it. The reason for this post in addition to the one below is that the software has been updated to version 2.5 - see developer's website - which improves it in every respect. In fact, it is excellent, not only with the stitching but with the multitude of options post processing on the completed image. Very very impressed.

This isn't some shiny looking app that looks in place on the iPad. It does however, do what it's supposed to do and that'll do me. And it does it very well, simply, efficiently and better than the cheaper alternatives. It didn't freeze my 4 year old MBP in the process and the stitching and output generally has been perfect. It IS expensive and whether you decide to pay for it depends on the extent to which you're really going to do panoramic pictures. In any event, be assured, this software does work.

Comment only. Haven't tried it out but would love too. But, $145???? Has anyone noticed the American economy lately doesn't cater to that? Or, did I miss something. I really would like to use it... sorry!

Best soft for this work...love it ! I own Stitcher Unlimited and The VR Worx, but they are not as good as Autopano to detect the pictures and stitch them. ( even for pano made handheld) with the pano made by Autopano, I use The VR worx in the end to make the QTVR, or Stitcher... But again to stitch there is not easyer and accurate than autopano. Have a test drive, you will be very very happy.

Samples show good results, however.... I tossed 4 projects which I am currently working on at it, and the process, in all the different set-ups I gave it, failed miserably. Completely unacceptable results. On top of that, the interface is gawd-awful. I gave it a 1x2 and 2x2 photographic and a 1x3 and 2x2 multipage scan. The 2x2 photo of a steppe-villatge was hilarious, as it put 3 of the shots exactly on top of each other and fish-eyed them, and put the lower-right image immediately to the right of the stack. Awful. The 2x2 multipage scan turned into something resembling a doily (or mirrored cylinder art), arranged 1x4. And the very simple 2 image photo with 1/3 overlap, it couldn't even put together, just saying it couldn't find a panorama. This has got a very long way to go for anything I could actually use. In the time it took to fail with the two shot photo, I could have stitched it in photoshop, with only the central distortion requiring a correction. I could use a tool to do this with my hundreds of multi-page scans that I deal with on many projects, but it actually has to work... And my scans don't have typical lens, focus, and dof distortions... These should be easy to deal with. (And how about a switch turning OFF all features that require JFIF information, as not everybody just plugs their camera in and drops the photos immediately into a stitcher.) Some people might get results with this, and other reviews seems to support this, but I'm certainly not getting good results, and I believe that allowing the user to pre-set-up relative positions, sizes, and co-incidence points would give the program a better chance to select proper stiitch points.

Really impressive results without any manual repositioning and work. Very good color correction. Yet there are many, many possibilities to optimize the result. Unfortunately the interface is as well crafted as the rendering. The toolbar is cluttered with strange icons, some do start an action, some require strange interations... You should read the wiki/documentation when entering manual mode..

Stitch photos really better and easier than Sticher, for less. Drag and drop the photos and it will stich them automatically, you don't see the connection between 2 pictures unlike Sticher.
