Movie Tools includes seven small utilities:

Convert To MP3 v2.1: Convert a QuickTime movie into an MP3 file.
Convert To AAC v1.1: Convert a QuickTime movie into an AAC file.
Convert To AIFF v1.1: Convert a QuickTime movie into an AIFF file.
Split Movie Tracks v1.1: Split a multi-track QuickTime movie into multiple QuickTime movies.
Marker Editor v1.0.1: Add and edit a movie's QuickTime chapter markers.

What's New

Version 1.1: Adds Split Side of Conversation v1.0 and Convert For Internet v1.0. Updates the other utilities to include a progress bar, and fixes various minor issues.

Not only doesn't the marker editor work for me, it does weird stuff, like making 7 or 8 .mov files most of which where under 4MB (from a 78MB file, and one that was about 40MB. All of which were useless. There were no signs it was actually doing anything, unless you watched the folder. Unfortunately, converting an mp4 file into a mov file is contrary to allowing everyone to view the movie, and there was no way to add or edit markers from this... Guess I'll be doing this the hard way.

Marker editor part of the app collection makes adding chapter markers to quicktime movies a breeze, phew! Thank you.

Still doesn't work with the latest iTunes unless you split the tracks out first with the split tool.

This is exactly what I was looking for! Simple, fast, uncluttered, clean, and it just does exactly what I need.

One note - these seem to be scripts that make use of other applications, not stand-alone apps. No problem with that, but I was a little startled when I dropped an AAC file on the converter mp3 conversion script, and it popped iTunes open.

This collection of seven drag-and-drop converters provide a quick and easy way to extract movie tracks and convert QuickTime movies to MP3, AAC or AIFF format for podcasts and sharing. Just drag a movie file to one the program icons and it will take care of the rest.

These utilities were designed for use with Call Recorder for Skype andConference Recorder for iChat AV but can be used with any movie file.
